How to Do a Letter Hunt
Before kids can learn how to read, they need to be able to recognize letters, and relate them to the sounds they make. When you’re out and about, try going on a letter hunt to work on letter sounds. Letters are everywhere. When kids realize that letters are all over the place, and not just in storybooks, they begin to understand how important they really are.
To play, find a word or letter wherever you are and ask your child what they think that letter is. If they can name the letter ask them to make its sound. Try stringing letters and sounds together.
